Is this an illustration of the areas, the sustainable places for those "left behind", not your words, my interpretation, mind you, puncturing through the blanketing ignorance? Perhaps a bit less metaphorical? What I see is a man and his property, with a goal, and a line of travel that must move around an iteration of his goal. I must ask, why is it that particular goal, and not either of the figural sister-goals that is the destination?
